Default Ground Control Springs?

I have a set of Ground Control adjustable coilovers on my 98 Civic. I have had them on there for a couple years now and noticed that the ride is getting more bounce in it. I would like to get some stiffer springs for my car and I think ground control sells stiffer springs right. I dont do any raod racing but I do happen to drag race and street race from time to time and would like to know what the right spring rate would be best for me what rate for the back and the front and I would also like for the springs to give me a stiffer ride not like the springs in there now they have settled so much that any little bump the car is all over the place.

If you have a set of GC coilovers then they came with Eibach springs. I am very skeptical to believe that the Eibach springs are causing the bouncy feeling your experiencing. Instead, I bet that one or more of your shocks are dead.

In regards to spring rate, I wish I could offer some advice but I don't know anything about the rates you'd need for drag racing. But, give GC a call and I'm sure they'll be glad to help you out.

Your shocks are about to blow. The bouncing is from the shocks inability to extend at its required speed. The strength of car springs (especially aftermarket) will require much more force than a car can apply to cause such wear.

also look up Ground control... and call them let them know whats up... they'll tell you exactly what spring rate you can use. then the springs are like 50 bucks a piece.

....after your sure about your shocks.

The reason that I thought it might be the springs is that I know of a few people that put adjustable coilovers on a car that didnt have that many miles on it and it would bounce alot. I know someone that did that and then put some after market shocks on the car and it still bounces some not as bad but it still does it. I was going to go ahead and order some shocks but I thought maybe that it could be the springs also I used to have some Sprint 2" lowering springs on my car before the ground control coilovers and it had a pretty good ride I sold them to a friend a couple years ago and they still ride pretty good now. My shocks are probably done for Ill check into it a little more.

yes, like everyone else says, 90% chance its your shocks. Call up Jay Morris at GC he'll be more than happy to help.

if you read the the instructions that come with your coilovers it says clearly to cut half of the bump stop for a stiffer fill why the car is set at a lower height.

Is your car pretty low, it might be bouncing off of the bump stops.

If that is not it, you might want to look into buying aftermarket shocks, like Koni's or KYB's or even Tokico's<{{{ that is what I have and I love them. Not to bouncy because I am at a reasonable height.

I would not recommend Tokico Illuminas if your spring rates are higher than, oh, 350 or 400 lb/in. On my GSR I have GCs and Illuminas, and with 450 lb/in rear springs, the tokicos don't keep up as well as I'd like. The 380s up front seem to be okay with the Illuminas, but that might just be because of the extra weight up there.

Tokico HPs are not as stiff as the Illuminas, so they will be overwhelmed by lower spring rates (dunno how low, however).

My HPs handle H&R Sports fine (340/186) and I'm going to see how they do with 375/400 springs.

I think that it could be the shocks well I pretty much know that it is the shocks. So what are the best shocks for the least amount of money. KYB's I dont want to spend alot on the shocks just something to give a better ride and last awhile. What is everyones input on that?
