TPS voltages
i'm trying to diagnose a CEL 7, heres the voltages i get back from the tps wires
yellow/blue - ground = 4.99 volts
red/black - ground = .038 volts up to 1.392 volts WOT
i have the throttle body out, and i called a honda dealership today to ask about the problem and they asked if i had anything aftermarket, and then told me to go away.. i'd really love to avoid buying a new throttle body to diagnose this problem..

how can i adjust the tps to have said voltages?
when i check the resistance (because its basicly just a resistor) between the signal wire and the ground and it comes up to .38-1.2.. same as my voltage readings when its plugged into the car
btw this is in a 00 civic si, the only electrical thing ive done lately was install the hondata system a few days ago (and the tps has been giving me problems ever since)

Have you removed the tps at all? If not, you may have a wiring problem. First, you probably have, but check to be sure that there is a ground, a 5 volt supply voltage and a signal output that varies with the tb opening/closing. If your signal does vary with tb opening and closing, and it is still in the .03volts range, check that the ground, 5 volts and signal are in the proper position on the tps. For example, the ground should be one wire, 1st 2nd or 3rd. The 5 volts should be the next, then the signal the last, all corresponding with the helms schematics.
To adjust the tb (if you haven't moved it, it may not be the problem), you have to first loosen the no-headed screws holding it in place and replace them with some philips headed metric screws. Then, you rotate the TPS to get the appropriate voltages for closed throttle......

the wiring looks good, ive got 4.99 volts on the supply line.. unfortunately i dont have a helms manual.. i'll go check that the +5 is in the middle, im almost sure its the first pin, then signal then ground.. i have the throttle body infront of me, but i haven't taken the TPS out yet..

btw, one strange thing is that my car worked fine for 2-3 days after installing the hondata system (tps gave me trouble during the install too) this time i opened the ecu to change a rom and the tps started happening again.. the first time i thought it was a loose connection inside the odb-ii/odb-i wiring harness..
AH got it.. some water seems to have rusted one of the terminals slightly, after filing it off and reinstalling the sensor works fine.. thankfully i didn't get a new tb heh
