Default Help my Bumpy ride!!!

Hey whats goin' on everyone?I have a 95 Civic DX Sedan w/ Progress springs and 17in G-Racing Kyoto rims.Lately it has been riding bad, like every bump I hit feels like i'm riding on pure rim.I keep checking my tire pressure and it is fine,I have stock shocks and no camber kit.I don't want to do any autoxing just want a nice smooth ride.I think its the shocks going bad,i had the springs on for about a year now.I was deciding whether to go with some nice coilovers or just get some good shocks.Any comments are appreciated.

A few things could have happened:
-Your stock shocks blew.
-Your springs, for some reason or another, don't hold their "stiffness" anymore. Meaning, they sagged down, so your car is lower.

Getting aftermarket shocks won't help too much, you'll still be bouncy, but it'll help.
-If you get coilovers, your ride (generally) won't get any better, but you can get something for coilovers that make it much more smoother.
Getting smaller wheels wouldn't hurt if you can afford it.

sure a new suspension set-up would help, but im pretty sure the bumpy ride is from your tires. i too have 17's and you and i both (i assume) have 40 series side walls which is extremely stiff and creates a very harsh ride at times. so before you go out and buy a new suspension, i'd recommend selling your wheels and downgrading to 16's with 45 series or even 15's with 50 series tires, which is more ideal for street driving. hth

my car bounces like dr. dre's! Blown shocks will be a mother on your back, buy some decent shocks and it'll improve. also, 17's will ride rough, but not usually that rough!

If your looking to spend 300-400 dollars good luck getting anything..even stock shocks agian. Pick up some KYB AGXs, will probobally set you back around 500 bucks. Tiens are going to set you back twice that if they set you back a dime. In your situation I wouldnt even consider Tiens. They are a VERY nice coilover setup, but are not what you need. They will be stiffer than what you want and will also be overkill for daily driving. Best of luck!

Stock Shocks are going to give you a terrible ride on any aftermarket spring. Spend some cash and do it right
