!!Pics!! CENDiv Solo II Auto-X - Rantoul, IL - Oct 4/5
Here are some photos taken of my car at the CENDiv autocross this weekend.
I took 3rd in SM.
A fully prepped EVO (Tein electronic susp, cams, Volks, Hoosiers, bad boost, etc) showed up at the last minute and registered after the registration had closed to take first in SM.
Pic in the tech area... (old air force airport hanger)
Engine...
In the grid...
On course...
These next shots are taken as I was correcting oversteer out of a drift...
...and this is my favorite pic...
Here's the EVO that killed us all in SM...
Enjoy!

hey Benny Z how many seconds that the EVO beat you by?
I have the same model civic.
what size tires and wheels do you have?
and what size sway bar are you using for front and rear?

The EVO clobbered us all by more than 5 seconds...sorry, I don't know his exact time. This was a 2-day CENDiv event and the official times were a combined time from the best times of both days.
I was .225 seconds away from 2nd place.
Currently I'm using 16" Rota C8 wheels with 205/40/16 Yoko A520 rubber. Next season I'm going to pick up a set of 15" DOT race rubber.
No sway bars right now. Next year I plan to try out the 3-way adjustable Comptech or Progress rear sway bars, and I might add an OEM Si front bar. A Quaife or Cusco LSD is also planned. I think I'll be pretty happy with that setup.
I use H&R coilovers, Ingalls camber kits, generic upper/lower tie bars. I swapped the brakes with Si front/rear disks + powerslots + Porterfield R4S pads + Goodridge lines.

So you think that 15" will help in better steering response?
I have used both 15" and 16"
I have found that 16" gives me a better steering response.
but I was using Nitto555 for 16" and Kumho711 for 15". maybe the tire side-wall has a lot to do with steering response.
I have tein SS coilover with generic front strut bar and cusco rear upper strut bar.
no swaybar yet. but still deciding which one to get. and what size. I have heard that too big is not good..
did you e-break for that drift? or just simply step on the break at the turn.

is the one on the 25th-26th a two day? do you have to run both? our final event is Oct 26th and we are having a fast 10 index shootout, which i'm currently qualified for....
why, other than the fact that it looks cool, would you want your car to be able to do that? he definetly lost time doing that.

you're absolutely right.
it just happens that those pictures were taken on my very last run, which was my fastest time of the event. had i not overblown the very last gate (those pics), i would've had the additional .225 seconds to take home a trophy.
...but it looks cool!
the car is set up very neutral right now. i can get it to oversteer when i try (or muff up), but it points and goes wherever i point it. don't get me wrong...it definately pushes if i come in to hot 'n heavy, but i can usually get it to pivot very easily.

I am in awe of your car...I eventually want to be able to point my car on the track and it goes where i want it to...lol. I haven't put enough money into it yet to make it do that. Again, I want my little silver cx hatch to get up to par with yours. Kudos!!

Thanks for all the props, guys.
I'm very pleased with this car so far. Now it's just a matter of getting in as much seat time as possible to hone in my driving ability.
Mista Bone - I'm starting to feel ooooooold!!!!!!!

damn AWD bastards. That's exactly what happens to me and my bro in his 92 CX. We bust our asses driving the car and a WRX with all the Tein goodies comes out of no where and takes first and second (Same car two drivers) Oh well, at least we stay ahead of all the other cars..
