Warranty Work After 50,000miles w/o Extended Warranty
I'm in a situation where I'm at 49,400miles and the dealer has decided to replace the mainshaft assembly to troubleshoot some weird sounds coming from my tranny. They have everything except for one gear which is back-ordered.
a.) What would happen if the parts took ~3 weeks to arrive and I was over 50,000miles? I would think they would still honor what they agreed to do, right?
b.) If they do honor my warranty even if I was at 50k or beyond, what would happen if the issue is still not resolved? Would they continue to diagnose my tranny problems and replace stuff under warranty if need be?
TIA

mmmm, I am led to beleive that if they know of the problem before 50k and the problems continue past 50k they should try to resolve it without conflict.
I agree. As long as the problem has been documented before the warranty runs out, and they agree there is a problem, then you should be fine. Even if this fix doesn't work, I would think they would still work to solve the problem you had before your warranty ran out.
Of course, the only way to be absolutely sure is to ask them.
