Default starter bolt Q

im replacing my starter today and i disconnect the 2 wires and the top bolt..the bottom bolt is where im having trouble..it doesnt seem to budge at all..i take it on from the top/bottom of my car and no luck..its not rusted on or anything..anyone have any suggestions on how i can get this bolt loose? thx in advance..

have you tried using a breaker bar?

no breaker bar but i came up with a nifty way of taking it out..i used a rope and tied it at the end of my socket wrench..(i first used a chain but it broke)..then i used the remainder of the rope and wrapped it around a metal pole..then i pulled up on the pole until the bolt got loose..this sucker was on tight!!!..(other end of the pole was braced against a piece of wood on my engine)..i thought i'd post this if someone has a similar problem..

Yup, I'm finding more and more that a cheater bar and a big breaker bar are a necessity for working on older cars Good work duder, that's ingenuity.
