Default 2k1 Civic HU

Hey, what's up?

I'm helping a friend install his new Sony Xplod deck in his 2k1 Civic, for the price of his old deck. I tried to do it earlier today, but I couldn't figure out how to get the darn thing out of the dash!

First I tried removing just the compartment directly below the unit by pulling on it, but no luck. Then I tried removing the A/C vents and tried popping out the whole console panel, but I could only get the top corners to pop out. Didn't want to brake anything, so I told him I'll try to find out online how to do it.

Can anyone give me some advice? Thanks a ton...

Evan

hella easy, just get a screwdriver, cover it with a towel or something and pop out the entire console out. the console i speak of encloses the cd player, ac controls etc.

make sure you pop off the AC ***** first, that is the only thing. After that it is just a matter of unscrewing stuff. I'm pretty sure thats how I did it, but i havent worked in a 7th gen civic in more then a year...

remove the panel directly below the radio, if i remember there should be two screws facing upward. unscrew and put entire panel out.
