any Sportsman FWD updates at all from e town?
11 cars teched yesterday.... 1 broke on the way back to the track and 1 broke in the burnout left 9 cars over a 16car ladder.... some how the #1 and #2 qualifiers where on the same side of the ladder which made no sense.
Lets just give a quicker overview..
Brian Ballard was the man of the day... running 10.19 @ 142 in qualifying and 10.29 @ 143 in eliminations...
Jason Hunt ran 10.4X with a 10.3
SFP/Arospeed was a joke.... a whole lotta talk and nothing to back it... ran 12.8 in qualifying then lined up with Jason Hunt first round.... In the pits was all talking how if he hits every gear he'll whoop Jason... well guess what buddy... YOU LOST.... Looked like he broke an axle while running a spool. ran like 15 someting to Jason' 10.3 @ 145
Trackmasters integra came out of the ladder smelling like a rose.... some how qualified like 4 he ran the slowest car in the field, Then another car that was having troubles then he had a bye into the finals...
Even though that Bye into the finals should have either been the #1 Ballard or #2 Hunt's because they should have been on oppositie sides of the latter... well
Ballard and Hunt ran in the semis'... Jason left before the lights activated.... and Brian got the win and was in finals vs Trackmasters...
Then I left...

Are spool's, welded diff's, etc... illegal in the sport FWD class? For some reason I remember reading they are illegal. Maybe it was battle of the imports? I forget...
EDIT: from battle of the imports:
"REAR END
Limited slip differentials are permitted. Welded “spider-gears” and
spools are prohibited. Independent rear suspension systems to solid
rear axle conversions are prohibited."
I believe that they are illegal in a street class, because some cars have no cages, etc... If a driver with a spool breaks an axle, the car has a high chance of loosing control and may cross the line and could hit the other driver. I think its more of a liability/ safety issue in street classes.

well around here i'd say 98% of the cars that compete in the street classes run 11.99 and faster and have the saftey equipment... but...
I never said he definately had a spool... I said he appeared to break and axle with a spool based on the car darting dead left every time he hit the gas, just an observation.

This weekend was just one of those weekends. Thanks to Jason (I know your run against me was at least a 10.2 or better), Karl (jinxproof), Jim Justice, Charlie and everyone else for the help this weekend. Way to go Jason taking out the arospeed car and congrats to Trackmasters for giving me a hell of a run. He cut a .02 light against me and had me until well past the 1/8 mile. Was a fun weekend as always. Big props to Lisa Kubo, Gary G, Vinny ten, john shepard, scot mohler, leslie and Paul efantis for laying down some numbers this weekend.
and BTW, the car weighed 2320 all weekend and still has STOCK sleeves with a blockguard, 26 lbs, SC61. WTR OG Gangsta in full effect, rocking the 16" OZ Monte Carlos from '96.

First off, I want to say congrats to Brian , I told you the car has a 10.1 in it.... bet it has more
Ronnie your redlight jokes are becoming a sore subject..... I could not even hold the car to stage I rolled thru, **** happens" only against brian but it happens" As far as the SFP deal, I just want to say Frank seemed like a real nice guy, and people hyped this up pretty good" Motormatrix?", I have total respect for what he is doing, I know the car has a lot in it, just power was not everything this weekend.
Brian good going I wish I could have staged cause it would have been a good one.
Not a bad way to end the season....
St00pid, real nice meeting you, good luck with everything.

no more 9 car ladders. that was so lame and Jason and Scheepers got screwed on that deal.
Sorry-only 9 cars try to qual-stay on a eight car ladder or else you take away all the hard work of beng #1 and #2!
Jason and Brian should have been in the finals together and Scheepers should have faced Mohler in the semi-final round. He may not of had anything for Mohler but then again Scott did break on that run.
No more 9 car ladders!!!!!
Congrats to everyone on the wins and thanks for some good passes.

Come on Ant we got screwed the day before with all the weather, damn bracket racers, and that friggen 350Z blowing his oil wad all over the track yet again. $65 for 1 one is obsurd (this is coming from the guy with the lowest qualifying time). Awesome job Jason/Brian
Congrats Brian.
That 10.19 run was amazing. People were looking at Jason kind of funny he was yelling so loud. Jason, I guess you can't mess with WTR.
Don't get in a fight with the steering wheel next time, the steering wheel will always win. Had a good time hanging out with everyone.
See ya at MIR I guess Brian. And on another note, screw NJ and their no left turn in alot of place crap. Most stupid road designs I have seen.
