They are excellent bearings. I am also running them on my H22.

no it will not, the 97 up motors uses a larger main journal than the 96 and earlier motors.

I'm trying to build a 2000 H22A4 right now and am finding it hard to get aftermarket bearings. Clevite, FM, Safety, etc. all list the mains as the same for all years of the H22, but they are in fact not the same... I have made 2 trips so far for the bearings, and still have had no luck.

93-97 = 50mm mains
98-00 = 55mm mains

Actually, some 97's came with the 50mm and others came with the 55mm bore. Depends on when the motor was assembled.

Yea, i'm havin a problem with bearings too. I have a 2000 h22a4, and i ordered the acl bearings b/c the guy said it'll work with my motor. Well, I tried to install it and it was too small. I called the guy and told him but he said they should work. I told him it was for the wrong year h22a, so i'm tryin to get a refund on it back and the right sizes.

Wow thanks I was hoping for a website so I can see what the companies claims are. All I could find was ACLs. Mainly on how their non lead bearings are better for the environment. Nothing on friction characteristics or life span.

Alright, I just finished an H22A4 buildup, and after two days of driving all over town, I finally got the right bearings! They are not listed correctly in ANY manufactures catalog except Top Line, which are not tri-metal bearings, and I would definately not use them after seeing them, they are just a steel backed bearing with an aluminum surface!!!

I found them by looking them up by dimensions rather than application. By application, they show to fit B18A, B20A, B21A1, ZC, D16A. WRONG!!!
Not even close... they are completely different, not only the size, but the bearing lock tabs are all on the same side unlike any of the above mentioned engines, and there are oil grooves on both halves. (basically they are two block sides, rather than the normal block and caps which are solid and grooved with a hole only on the grooved ones)

Alright, alright, you want the part numbers dont you!

These are ACL numbers, and fit Most 97s and all 98s and newer H22s
The mains are: 5M1957-STD (standard size)
The rods are: 4B1936-STD (standard size)
The thrusts are:1T1957-STD (standard size)

BTW, ACL doesn't even list the 97 up Preludes in their catalog.
You can download the windows version of the ACL catalog (very cool!) at http://www.acl.com.au/web/aclw...t.zip
It even gives you specs on the bearings! Very worth having if you build motors...
