Are there different models of the Mugen Twin-loop muffler?
I ask because I have a Mugen Twin-loop that came off a Civic Si. (thanks bagelw!)
Obviously with it's axle-back pipe it won't just bolt up to the Type-R, (at least I'm assuming it won't) because the diameter and length is different. The question being, is there any reason why I couldn't just have the pipe wacked off and weld on the correct axle-back pipe to the twin-loop? The diameter of the pipe going directly into the muffler looks bigger than the axle-back pipe itself, which is why I ask if there are different version of the muffler alone, or does King/Mugen just ship it out with a different axle-back pipe welded on depending on which application the customer is needing it for. If the muffler itself is the same, I will just have a new axle-back pipe welded on or have someone make a full cat-back pipe.
Currently I have the DC 4-1 JDM 2.5" header and SMSP modified 2.5" high-flow cat that has an adapter to mate to my stock ITR exhaust pipe.

The only difference I know of is the muffler. There was a non-twinloop offered by mugen a long time ago.
There is also two different types of tips.
I bet all the twinloop mufflers are the same.

it even looks like the pipe directly out of the muffler is about a 1/4" or more larger then where the axle-pipe is welded on, and actually looks pretty shoddy, whoever welded it on there. So I'd think I could wack it there and have a 2.whatever" pipe welded on to mate to the ITR
what is the stock pipe size on the ITR? 2.25?

i'm not sure if what I have to say answers this but it might offer some insight.. i have a 99 Si.. as well as the stock muffler and stock itr muffler.. i recently had the itr catback modified/installed onto my car.. i can tell you that the itr muffler and Si muffler bolt up to the same location, but the tip on the Si is much longer than that of the itr (hangars were in the same place).. a quick and easy check would be to unbolt your current axleback and testfit.. my guess is everything wil bolt up but the tip will be sticking out WAY too much..

I'm fairly certain it won't bolt up as the pipe alone on the Si is about 2" and on the ITR it is 2.25" (measured last night).

believe me it's not that hard to try.. many Si owners swap out the stock b-pipe with the oem itr one and use with their stock exhaust.. if it works that way, it should work the other way.. .. if you need me to, I can try and bolt up my stock Si muffler to my itr bpipe..

not even close.....

ah, i see the problem.. the stock Si muffler is placed further back and the tip is extended; that's why i was making the comment that everything 'should' fit except that the tip would stick out, whereas the mugen places the muffler closer to the bumper and extending the over-axle section.. i guess there's not much i can say, except that to fit it, it looks like you have to chop up/shorten the over axle section, then extend the tip... or sell the muffler and get the itr version.. how much do these things go for anyways..
p.s. nice jack..

yeah i continued my mental masturbation over here

so it looks like I need to wack off the bpipe and replace it with a shorter one (that is 2.25" instead of the 2" that is on it), and possibly move or extended the hanger rods on the muffler. I suppose I *could* sell this one to an Si guy and buy one for the ITR, but since new ones are like $1000 for the cat-back, I imagine the muffler alone is $600-700? No thanks, only trying to make this work cause it's free.
and yeah,

I love my $159.99 Harbor Freight Rapid Pump jack. I just can't believe I went a year without one.
