hey all-i made the stupid mistake of cleaning off the painted numbers they scribble on the window at tracks-with a razor blade
i've always used it before with no problems, but i guess i did it wrong somehow last night because now i have some pretty good surface scratches on the rear quarter window glass-
if there is a product out there anyone knows of i can use myself, short of me spending some dough at an auto glass shop to fill the scratches, i would appreciate the heads-up.
otherwise, how difficult is it to just replace the quarter piece? i consulted my helms and it looked somewhat involved...
it wouldn't be so bad and i would just live with it, but at certain angles of light, the scratches just jump out and the glass looks cracked..
thanks all
PS- i put out a want ad for the glass, so if you have a mint one laying around, pls help a bro out

Yikes!
Which glass, the triangle one next to the doors or the hatch?
anyway, there is a glass polish that should work, Just be sure to remember one thing you get what you pay for- so don't be cheap not that you are and get the good stuff

The can says "rare earth" but yet to see it in a store. Red powder, very fine and then mix with water and polish, simple as anything but hard to find.
Maybe you could try this: http://www.eastwoodco.com/item....y=51
I have never used it but maybe its worth the effort
Edit: this looks like something I used...

What about that windshield crack repair? Just take the resin from the tube and spread it into the cracks. Only thing is you have to use a razor blade to scrape off the excess

using a razor blade shouldn't scratch the glass.
do you have tint film on the outside?
i worked detail for 5 years, we used razor blades on windows every day, never hurt a thing. something's missing here.
