Just bought a 92 DX Hatch.. Motor wont start...
Ok I just got a 92 Hatch at an auction.. The starter cranks over, but the car is not starting... I did a compression check and its bad.. 1st 155 2nd 140 3rd 80 4th 135. Im pretty sure the engine is fucked.. My question is would the engine start with that kind of compression? Or does it have some ignition problems? What do those engines run used, or at a junkyard?.. Its the SOHC non vtech

Start with the basics, check for spark at the spark plugs, if fuel is getting to the injectors, if the injectors are squirting, and if any of the fuses are blown.
you could have leaky valve or worn piston rings. try to recheck your compression again to be sure. you might have a blown head gasket only if you have the compression with 2 cylinder next to each other.

I put new plugs in.. The valve cover is leaking pretty bad into the sparkplug well so that dosent help.. I put new ones and it still wont start up. Im going to check the distributer next.

I got the car for 850 taxes towing it will be like 1000.. red perfect interior, 150k miles. Ive yet to clean the ouside so hopfully it turns out well.

I checked the distributor and its brand new! The rotor on it is perfect and the distributor cover is new also.

B.) order that B18C5 swap right now so you don't have to worry about the busted-*** engine that's in it.

I dont think im going to keep the car.. I just want to get it running to sell.. I know its still worht a lot not running, but id like to try to figure it out..
