How do i tell if BRAKE proportion valve is ABS or not?
i have a 4040 proportion valve, but i dont know if its from an abs car or not. its a 94, but........ any way to distinguish? looks close to my stock one, just a little beefier. 4 hoses coming out of one side, and on the other 2 hoses.
any input or special stamps i can look for?
what i can see: 4040 V5

Don't think ABS system will really have a prop valve. ABS system handles all of that. When i was looking for one the ABS car I saw didnt even have a normal 40/40. just a unit in the same place with 2 lines in/out. If its stamped with a 4040 and is a 2in4out setup, you're set.
4040 proportional valve is for gsr, ls all disk brakes. and i think it a non abs the abs brake only have 4 fittings. it would work on your car fine even better if you gona do a rear disk swap.
yea actually i think i remember a post, where the abs proportion valve looked like a a triangle or diamond (the bulk peice with fittings) i was just trying to double check. didnt want to mix non abs and abs stuff. thakns a lot guys. h-t rules
