I had Acura perform the 15K maintenance on my R at the end of May. It's now the end of August (3 months later) and I am putting around 100 miles/month on the car. At this rate, I won't have 3,000 miles on the oil for about 2+ years. Thinking about the rule of thumb of changing oil every 6 months or 3,000 miles, do I need to change the oil 3 months from now?? Anything else I should worry about from a maintenance perspective? Thanks.

 

I've only put about 1000 miles since my last oil change in the beginning of May...I recently had my valve cover off adjusting my valves and the oil was still in good shape and of a good color...so I'm not going to change it until I hit the 3K mark, even if it's about another 2 months...I use Mobil 1 fully synthetic too, so I may be able to stretch it more than a conventional oil...

I wouldn't worry about it, but take a look and see how the oil looks colorwise via the dipstick...
