Default Oil pressure gauge

Has anyone installed an electronic oil pressure gauge? Can I use the existing one an just cut the wire to the idiot light or will that create some kind of code since the computer will not recognize the oil pressure?

Not sure if cutting the wires would cause a code, but is the stock sender compatible with, let's say, an Autometer guage? The stock sender might not send out the right voltage levels for the aftermarket gauge...

You need to use the sensor made for the gauge.

I think you can use the sender the autometer came with. Although the threading is slightly tad off, when screwing in but it'll work. But I have seen where some leaked. Autometer is bleh!
