Default Making my own RCA's

What kind of wire should I buy, I want to run one cable back with 6 RCA adaptors, so I would need 12 individually shielded wires. What gauge should I get, I'm just going to the hardware store so they won't have anything special.

okay forget that, I went to home depot and they had 12/4 and 14/3 I would have had to run 3 or 4 different chords and it would have been like $35 in wires plus $12 for connectors. I there a type of wire that the guage wouldn't have to be so big?

just get a set of Monster Cable Micro XLN 6 channel RCA's. The main wire going back is as big as a normal 2 channel RCA run

you would have to twist all the wires and then double shield them.. its not worth it. you would have engine noise almost garanteed.. buy a good set of rca cables and be happy w/ the quality

Out of what, I heard that you can use microphone wire, or wire like that, it's possible. I just want to know if anyone has done it. I'm talking about individualy insulated wire, They would already be twisted. '

How much is that monster cable XLN stuff? Where can I get it for cheap?

does that mean that scosche is good? I have RCA's that I got on ebay for cheap, I thought that they would work, and then it didn't. So I am looking to upgrade but I only want to spend about $50 I thought that making my own would be the best.

This guy used Canare microphone wire. I don't know how the hell it works, but maybe you could e-mail him.

It works great, I make all of my own cables using the Canare Star Quad and some cheap ($1 each) RCA ends. They work for balanced, unbalanced, and high voltage applications.

I'd check out these too:

Okay, I did the research and here is how it turned out.

Monster Cable XLN micro 6-channel 5 meters: 68.62 + shipping http://hypaudio.com/hypaudio/132010.html

MCM gold plated color coded Connectors + 100 Ft double teflon insulated : 48.03 + Shipping
http://mcm.newark.com/NewarkWe...-2130 (connectors 12 of them(solderless))

http://mcm.newark.com/NewarkWe...-2180 (100 ft of cable)

Which should I get? I can reuse the RCA connectors on the MCM cable multiple times, and will probably end up with extra cable.

I think that the Monster cable LOOKS weak, And the MCM cable LOOKS cool. IF that matters at all

The 6 channel Micro XLNs rule. They sound cleaner and are so small compared to normal RCAs... Well, when you're running 5 channels back like me anyway.

I buy bulk cable, its not cheap stuff... but works out to $1 a foot -- I usually buy 500 feet or more.
