BOV ON SUPERCHARGER LOL ????????????????

yo guys i was hearing that you can put a BOV on a supercharged car. i just want to know if this is true. i know you have boost like turbo but that would be alwsome if you could cuz u can have the supercharger sound an dthe bov sound so it seems liek you have a sick car lol. thnaks for all your guys answers.

a BOV is to protect the turbo from surging,i could not tell you how to put one on a supercharger unless you did the front mount kit where you would have a room between the charger and the intake??

Vortec makes a kit with it, aftercooled with the BOV mounted to the cooler.

if its a centrifugal(sp?) blower like vortecs all you have to do is place the BOV between the TB and the blower(like a turbo setup)...this is very common. here is one on a Votec supercharged Maxima

as long as the setup doesn't look like the JRSC kits for integras & civic, and resembles more like a Turbo setup with a charge pipe, you can put a BOV. If you've got a JRSC kit that looks like a integra's kit, than forget it.

If there wasn't a BOV on a centrifugal style setup, you would have some serious problems with over boosting. The thing is, at 5000 rpm, the SC is gonna be boosting whether you are on the throttle or not. Without a BOV (or more commonly called a bypass valve), there would be boost spikes, and the piping would blow off the couplers.
