gained 17whp!!....... and an LS hood???
so i finally got the parts on and dyno tuned!!
day went pretty much without flaws... the only one was my damn LS hood... wtf????
found out while looking for valve specs on the under hood------
my damn VIN's dont match up-- and the valve specs are for an LS... wtf...
anyway.. on to the good part!!
baseline(intake/catback)
and here's the new against my baseline(cams/header/2.5carsound/v-afc)
not too bad!! I'm happy!!

to tell you the truth... im not sure if i like the v-afc...
i got a CEL 22 today(VTEC Oil Pressure Switch defective circuit or unplugged)-- upon research-- it seems like this may be a common problem.
i've reset the ecu for 10 seconds to no avail
oil was pretty much right in the middle of the dots...
I'm wondering if anyone else can advise on this... should i not go into vtec until i get this looked at or is it this vafc messing with me??
TIA

i assume you have a GSR. that code is usually cause by the VTM wire not being connected. apex made a goof in the instructions, and said that the VTM wire does need to be connected. other wire the ECU think that vtec is not working properly. the ecu sent the signal for vtec, but vtec didn't kick in yet, since you probably set it higher than stock. connecting the VTM wire tircks the computer, so that when the ECU trys to activate the Vtec solenoid, the VAFC sends a signal to the ECU that it did. but it really didn't yet. that was happening to me. i was getting a CEL and it told me to check the Vtec system. then i looked at the apex web site, and they had an update on the instructions. if you did connect the VTM, than you might want to check the wiring. when did the light come on? since i did it, i haven't had any problems.
they're in the sig..
2001 ITR cams-- and '98 spec jdm itr 4-1 header...
this CEL is just weird tho...all was fine yesterday, and this morning...
i got on it on my lunch break(3hrs. ago).. looked at the cluster-- low and behold
i'll look into the VTM wire.... if this is it.. would it have thrown the code right away yesterday?

wow, definantly go to a chipped p28 and then go back and tune should help out, though your graph seems pretty well done. With my p28 and vafc it only took me an hour to tune my car to near perfection.
bump for this CEL problem
would this keep vtec from engaging??
i'm just trying to figure out if this is a dummy CEL or legit...is it safe to get on it??

was your car warmed up before you hit it going up this ramp, if not that might be it. did it go away after you turned the car off and then on again?
I'm 99% sure it's your VAFC. A bump in the road probably messed up the wiring. Take it to someone who is competent. I wouldn't mess with it if I were you since you probably never messed with it. VAFC wiring is no joke.
so hopefully he did wire up the vtm, and it just came loose!!
:crosses fingers:
and ya.. since i didnt do the work.. im not touching it!!

well, you can just take a look at the wiring, and see if there is a wire coming from the VAFC that is not connected to anything. every wire should be wired in. where is your VAFC mounted right now?
