Assuming you have a 1.5L 16-valve motor DPFI, if you install an Si head with the cam, the Si intake and ECU, of course, your HP will jump from 92 HP to about between 108-112 HP.
I did the conversion on my 89 DX hb and believe me, you can feel the difference, especially past 3 g's. Not to say you're gonna go out and hunt for GSR's, 'cause it ain't EVER GONNA HAPPEN! But it would be worth the conversion. Just don't cut wires when you do the job...get an extra Si harness and make your own from there. Then you can get the car ready for a ZC or B18a motor in the future.
Good Luck!

Yes I think the Std is an 8 valve motor like the HF, the DX and Si were 16 valve motors. fro what a ZC sells for why not just jup to that instead of trying to make a std motor into something less than even a DX engine. Just my opinion. At least get a Si or DX engine from someone who swapped, less work and not much cash.
?????????? The STD engine has FAR less power than the DX that had like 92hp. whereas the Si was about 106, STD was about 70-74 roughly, but by no means was a 8 valve STD engine pushing anywhere near what the Si 1.6 was doing.<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by 91civicDXdude »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">the d15b7 is 102hp.. its a 1.5 MPFI</TD></TR></TABLE>
ok fellas..there not 8 valves, there a 16 valve. The b1 actually has higher compression than that of the Si also. The head is identical to the Si. Do the mpfi swap alone and look at numbers right around 100-105 hp, depending on how good ur bottom end still is. Swap the Si cam and u will be at about 108 hp. After you do the mpfi swap, put an si tranny in there, and smoke stock Si's all day long.
I was comparing his MPFI D15B1 to a D15B7, which is a 1.5L SOHC MPFI 16v. same setup.
D15B1 is 16v. D15B1/D15B2/D15B7 all have the identical pistons, flat tops with 4 valve reliefs. since the d15b7 is rated at 102hp, and the d16a6 is rated at 108hp, im guessing that his 1.5L SOHC MPFI will be somewhere around 95-105hp

Well you guys have me lost now, I got away from the 1.5 anything when I found my cylinder walls scored, and went ZC DOHC. I will bow out of this discussion till it gets back into territory I understand better.

after the a6 head and mpfi swap. the gains were minimal, but the throttle response and idle definitely improved. The key is to ditch that 4spd, thats the real problem...
