Default 96 Honda Accord ABS Light Question

For all you accord owners....i'm sure this topic was covered before..... but have any of you had a problem with the ABS light?

I always thought it was just a sensor behind one of the wheels.....but my mechanic checked it out and all the sensors looked alrite....and also the ABS works....so I don't know why the light comes on every so often......any ideas?

Thanks

What code does it have stored? Check it the same way you would a CEL.

If your light is on, from what I know, your ABS is NOT working .. you brakes work of course. When your light is on, you car reverts just to normal 4-wheel disc mode. Pull the ABS code ... I have problems with my ABS light coming on from time to time, I have a leak in the ABS system. So I have to fill the resevoire (sp?) up from time to time.

Procedures for reading the code might not be the same for all years, so someone who has a 5th-gen can go for that...

Some ABS faults happen when the ABS still works. For example my Integra will light up the ABS light if it takes too long to pump up the accumulator. Or if it has to pump it up again without having used the ABS. But the ABS still works...
