Default Is this a good buy?

My friend is selling a 95 Honda Civic Si VTEC SOHC, its bright orange.. needs a paint job.. caues it only has one coat of paint.. and its starting to peel..

also he just replaced hes clutch.. but hes friend who tried to fix it messed up... its really hard to shift.. prolly something wrong with clutch or needs to be bleeded or some thing...

It has 120K miles.. and yes my friend is a racer and raced it..

it drives smoth tho.. .. and hes selling it for $2500
Plus it will come with tight *** Si Rims! its off the hook yo0!
is it worth it!?

oh yea i forgot the mods

it has a stright pipe to a cherry bomb, Short ram intake, Long tube Headers, MOMO sticker, DC Sports Stickers, VTEC stickers, Si Rims!
and its lowerd 2 inches also..

all that for 2500 is it worth IT?!?!?!?!

Or Should I buy a STOCK 95 Civic VTEC Si that only has 80k miles and the dude is selling it for 4500... with no mods what so ever.. all highway miles!

tell me what you guys think!

What on the car warrants those stickers?

If you are planning to keep the SOHC, I personally wouldn't want to buy a car with an engine that I knew was beat on. Plus, judging from the clutch, you don't know how well the car was taken care of. The going rate for a good paint job is close to $1500-2000 so you won't be saving that much in reality.

i wouldn't buy a car that had already been "modded" half the fun of owning a car is making it into what you want it to be.......the orange si only sounds like a deal...IF you have no intention of keeping the stock motor and plan on removing all the stickers and repainting it. i dunno about where you live, but in my area 5th gen si's run for $3000-$3500 max.

i would get it if the body was in decent condition. plus with the extra 2g you have, yank out the motor and invest into another motor. while pulling the motor out, pull the stickers off too.
btw: i wouldnt pay not 4500 for no hatch. an old one at that

I guarantee that the car has been wailed on, also it sounds like the throw-out bearing needs to be re-adjusted, which means removing the tranny again, so that could be an expensive process..

Talk him down to 2grand, and keep it as a beater...

well me and my dad move trannys together already.. we are pretty good in fixing import cars already.. Honda should not be as hard.

I'm not sure if he wants 2000 for it... and the body is in good shape

The first car is a piece of ****. I am sure you can get a better deal somewhere and $4500 is waaay too much for the second car. I bought my car h22a swaped and lots of other goodies for $6000. It was a risk but It ended up turning out well.

You really talk like that?

[QUOTE=95CivicVTEk]it has a stright pipe to a cherry bomb, Short ram intake, Long tube Headers, MOMO sticker, DC Sports Stickers, VTEC stickers, Si Rims!

First of all stickers aren't mods. Second cherry bombs sounds like ****.
This whole car sounds like crap I would get an Si if I were you. Trust me I owned a piece of shir orange car car befor, its not fun very long. You'll be much happier with an Si. I know I was. Especially one with just 80k miles on it.

these stickers alone are worth the asking price.

Not with those mods on it it is not worth it, buy the other car and make it your own style not your friends.
