Prelude piston swapping question....
My friends H22 motor that he bought has 4 blown pistons (cracked ringlands)
It's a 92 JDM with P13 stamped on the pistons. My friend that sold him the motor included some P5 Pistons.
The P5 pistons come with some really thin rods compared to the JDM ones. I also noticed that the P5 uses floating pins to connect the the piston to the rod. The JDM one, has a pressed in pin.
Is it possible to swap and use the JDM rod and put it onto the P5 Piston? I'm not sure which H22 the P5 came from (Non VTEC? Type S? ) The face of the piston is definetly flat compared to the high compression JDM which has a bump on it.

I also heard that Wiseco came out with some forged pistons that can be used in the Prelude motor without having to resleeve. Anyone know where I can get more information or where to buy these pistons? Thanks.
He can use any piston from a 97+ prelude which is only 10:1 not 10.6:1. And it would work fine. If he needs pistons, and has torn his block apart i say throw in Type-S pistons. But if he doesn't have the money i have a set of H22a4 used pistons for sale. If he wants them.

If p13 is on the pistons they are theold style.
P5M - H22A4 pistons 10:1
P5P - Type-S pistons 11:1
P13 = either old usdm 10:1 or JDM 10.6:1
If you have floating pins you either need an H22A4 piston or a type-s. Either Way from our IM convo you need oversize pistons 87.25 if you want to get away without sleeving.
And the Wisecos in stock sleeves do NOT work! There's a thread on here proving it.

no, you have to have the rods rebushed to accept the floating pin.
heres the thread about the weisco pistons:
