AEM V2, no VTEC?
Hello, I am new to your forums so please don't flame me... I just installed an AEM V2 intake in my 03 Civic EX 2DR.. followed all directions but it was easy enough anyways. Problem is, when I reach the VTEC crossover point I don't hear the switch to the high load cam setting.. its like VTEC isn't engaging.. what could be wrong? All harness clips I moved (for working space) were put back correctly. Any ideas?
check out the aem website, it does say the AEM V2 is a bit quieter than their regular CAI designs. also, on a sohc vtec, you're not gonna hear much of a x-over anyways, the way it operates is a lil different than the dual cam vtec found in b16, b18c, k20a, f20c etc
Check your oil while your car is on a level surface and is COLD. If the oil level is normal and you aren't getting any check engine lights, then it is probably just it being quiet.

the reason why the SOHC VTEC doesnt sound as loud as the DOHC is because our exhaust valves dont have vtec....
our exhaust valves already open enough and thats why some SOHC get a raspy noise on hgih end...
