Has anyone taken an SH tranny opened it and replaced the diff with a Quaife and bolted it to a base engine??

Won't work. A very long time ago Quaife agreed to make a diff for the SH if they got enough interest (group buy type thing). Unfortunatly there were not enough people interested at the time and they never produced such a beast.

Not sure what you mean but you would have to remove the ATTS unit and replace it with the Quaife one. The ATTS unit would not go back in the car.

Limited slip with ATTS will not work, ATTS throw codes because it is being prevented from doing what it does. Also you cannot take the SH tranny and bolt it to the base without the ATTS unit, these things are married to each other, will not work without the other.
