Launching Falkens?
Just got a new set of Falken Azenis and at 3K I bog, at 4K they blow off. WTF I also tried to launch it around 5K and feather the clutch, but I got a lot of wheel hop. I know these aren't the best tires for drag, but I thought they would be better than that. Do you think they were not warm enough? It was kinda cold last night...
i read of people dropping the tire pressure to like 18-20psi and dropping the clutch at like 3500Rpm-4000Rpm and getting really good 60" times.....
Go and search "azenis" .. u will find alot of info....
Cool I will try that! It's not too bad I mean I pulled consistant 2.3 60' but I did better than that on the stock tires Kumho 711 (yuck). I think I just need to get them a little warmer and get used to them!

We are all running Azenias and RA-1 best way we found for low ets was 20-25psi and NO BURN outs just spin the tire to get the rocks off and I was getting 2.0 and 1.9 with My 4 door Turbod EL
20 psi, hard slip from 5500= low 2.1's
and try to not heat them up, they grip better when cold. if you can go around the water box, do so. if you can't, just do a small burn out to get the water off.

I'm pulling the same on Yoko ES100s..... I usually see the azenis in the 2.0 range.

i will disagree with you on that until the cows come home. i have always had worse 60' times when i did a burnout compared to not doing one. if it works for you though, go for it.

I'd think most agree, street tires need a teeny bit of heat. Best bet isnt a burnout or completely cold. Just spin them to clean them off and that'll do the job.

if i have to go through the water box, i just give them a tiny cleaning before the launch.
