Default EVERY ONE WHO PLANS ON DOING A ENGINE SWAP SHOULD READ THIS!!!!!!!!!

hi im from madison wisconson not to long ago me and my friend nick did a engine swap on my 1990 honda crx HF we did the JDM b16a integra xsi 92-93 170 hp we got the motor in and got it running but it was making a loud knocking noise so i took it to a shop and they told me that it was the rod bearing in the first cyilnder so i called the guys up at Hmotoronline.com and told them and first i was pissed off the my motor was knocking but after talking to the guy there he's sending me a new short block for free of charge and free shipping and handleing. the motor i got was really clean and everything. shipping only took 1 week to me thats fast. well the MORAL OF THIS STORY IS if you plan on doing a swap by your self or with a friend DO YOUR HOME WORK it will HELP A LOT also i recommend to buy your motor from http://www.Hmotorsonline.com my short block should be comming today i will keep you guys posted and let you know what happens.

P.S. any one who plans on doing a CRX swap with a HF make sure the axles will fit through the rotors if they dont dont be worried you can go to the junk yard and get 1990 integra axles and rotors and the will fit fine just use the end that goes into the tranny on the axles that came with the motor and use the 90 integra axles for the rest

wtf? use just 90 integra axles and rotors and the axles will fit?

you need to use 88-91 dx/si knuckles/hubs to make the axles fit....this is common knowledge

As far as the rod knock...maybe you could have checked the motor before you installed it in your car?

how much is shipping? good luck on the b16 and it seems you got great customer service

a little off topic, but the b16a was 160 hp but i wasn't aware there was a b16 in the xsi, i though that was a sohc, so was there a b16 first gen and what is diff, between that motor and and the crx sir motor?

i replaced oil pump, water pump, timin tensioner, timin belt.

first 1000 miles changed it every 100 miles.

lil bs problems. but not because of the motor. been in over a year now. 10K miles

If you get the hub/knuckle from an automatic dx you might have problems with the axle spinning. So try to get them from a manual car, but if you do get them from a automatic, IM me. I have a little secret on how to make them work.

I have 92 Teg brakes on my 91 HF, and I don't have any camber problems. I just had to get an alignment after the swap was done. I later got an Ingall's camber kit though because I lowered my car, and wanted to maintain proper camber. It did work just fine after the alignment without the camber kit.

Oh also, HMotorsonline got me a new shortblock after my engine had very low compression. I got it in about a week, and I haven't had any problems since. I'm going on 15K miles, and it's still running like a champ.
I give a to HMotorsonline

yeah samething happened to me, well was gonna buy a motor from a friend put the ls in, started it up, mean *** loud rod knocking. took the bottom end apart, the #1 rod was bent the whole crank was burnt, 3 of the main bearings were no good, 2 of the rod bearings no good, actually #1 rod bearing came out in 4 pieces. only thing that was good was the pistons. i found out the hard way. but good thing i never had to pay for hte motor, but back to stock motor that doesnt have compression in 2 cylinders. so basically im fucked

Your 30 and still calling people names over the internet ? Wow get a life. We have done this swap on a few automatic dx's in the shop and the same problem happens all the time. Even hasport says if you have a 4 speed to get the hub/knuckles off of another car. So good for you if they fit when you do them, but when we have done them, none of them have fit. So now if anyone has a problem, instead of coming to you and you just gonna tell them, they will fit, they should fit blah. Maybe they will see they don't fit like everyone says they do. And I told people to IM me cause I don't feel like explaining it in the post to people that won't even need the info. So if anyone is having a problem with getting there axles to fit in there 4 speed hubs/knuckles they will IM me.
