I heard type R cams are the best Honda cams for turbo. That's what I heard Gary Gardella runs. Also look at the motor specs of John Browns car on Ebay, he runs a type R intake and a GSR exhaust.

it really depends on your goals. Skunk2's are supposed to be really good up to 20 lbs, Itr's are better than skunk2's over 20 lbs. If you want, i have a set of each that i need to get rid of. let me know if you are intersted.

Pardon me for going off on a tangent here, but I've always been curious about cam selection, and parts comparison dynos are hard to come by for anything but bolt-ons. Before I sell them I'll probably do a back to back dyno between a set of Toda spec C's I have here and the stock b16 cams. Increasing lift can yield some huge gains - for example hks 272 cams over stock can yield 50-100whp gains on larger single turbo supras... if I can dial out the overlap then I can only imagine a ported b series head would love 12.5mm of lift for turbo applications. Who knows though - thats why I want to try it. I have come across only one person that tried big cams (the spec c's as a matter of fact) with a turbo honda (pretty sure the guy lived in Japan), and if I remember correctly he was making pretty impressive #'s for his setup.

Get a low duration cam w/a HUGE lift = less overlap and TONS more power w/FI
In other words, a "spikey" cam

Try the EF-1 turbo cam, same duration as GSR with 1mm more lift.

I hate to stray, but, is that fireal?? I understand the concept, but I just can't see how it works.

FI=high lift low duration, I'd seriously look into the EF-1 turbo cams from rocket. These are the the new school of cams. The Skunk, Toda, Jun cams were all based from the ITR/CTR cams. And used the stock ITR as a benchmark to mark improvement. Rocket's EF-1 cams use skunk, jun, toda as a benchmark to start from, not ITR.

yeah man its insane, read up on it. with just that head you can rev a stock block to 14k and I can see a 1000+hp turbo b18c with those cams

I think Brad's (RLZ) all mota cams would be crazy in a FI situation

super high lift (biggest i've ever seen or heard of in a honda 14.5 or so) and low duration

I agree with ya'll of course regarding overlap, but the primary and secondary lobes on the spec C cams have more lift and less duration than the vtec lobe on stock b16 cams, so that is why I thought I would give them a shot. I already have both sets of cams so why the hell not, ya know? If somebody has already tried this, then tell me so I don't waste my time. If not, don't knock it, because if there is one thing about making power with honda's, it is usually the unorthodox methods (the ones that make more power) that later become general knowledge. Retard intake/advance exhaust and you can magically deal with a finite amount of overlap. In the worst case I have two sets of cams to sell for some ITR's lol

JDM is nothing more than looks
rice is just looks

what's the difference? just two seperate approaches at the same goal. a show car.

very good point but to the average person they will notice a riced out car over a jdm styled car......i think jdm is for more of the real/experienced enthusiasts vs lights/wings/body kits is for the beginner....this is in general of course. rice =highschool jdm = college....lol
