Default lsvtec build up

motor is going in a 2100 lbs 94 coupe

94 b18b block
stock bore je 12.5:1 compression pistons for gsr
eagle rods with larger bolts
green main bearings ...red rod bearings

98 type r head
rev springs and retainers
skunk stage 2 cams
type r intake man.
65mm throttle body
310 rc injectors
str fuel rail
2 layer head gasket

99 b16 tranny
phantom grip lsd

i hope to run some good times and put out some descent power
the car went 13.6@102 with the stock gsr motor..had minor bolt ons.
looking to run mid 12's on motor then put the bottle on in case

thats gonna be some crazy compression, youd better have some good tuning and some high octane gas.

you better ditch that phantom grip diff.

you should go with kaaz, quaife, or oem honda R diffs

everything else looks basically ok, but you wont know your bearing colors until you take your crank out and check all your clearances to see what ones you need. better put some plastigauge on that list.

the phantom grip is there for now cause it came with my tranny...the bearing colors i usually leave them like that.. the clearences are usually right on point for me..a little loose. i dont plan to drive the car every day. for my motors i drive everyday i run the clearences a little tighter.

no matter how sure i am, i always check clearances every time a motor is rebuilt thats all i was saying.

and about the phantom grip ive seen a couple of horror stories about phantom grip thats all...

i understand what u are saying...ive just had good experience with that combo..clearances are usually right were i want them. i might be getting a type r diff some time this week. i'll be happy to make around 200 hp

thanks for the info. this is going to be my 5th lsvtec build up. this is just a motor im building to have some fun on the weekend....most power ive made so far in the past on a lsvtec was 223hp and 149 lbs....just building a little street all motor car. cant get many races in my turbo car
