Coilovers Squeaking pls help
Well I just put my koni yellow shocks and Ground Control Coilovers in my crx. Well Whenever I go through a turn or something my car makes a loud quecking sound so I figured that the springs in the coilovers are moving a little bit when I turn emitting this godly disturbing sound. So I was just wondering I it would be ok to put maybe some litium grease or some silcon around the bottom of the springs where it meets the coilover heightener. Thnx
Grease is only going to be temporary. If you want you can get plastic washers that go inbetween the spring and the spring perch to quiet things down.

I wonder about this. Did you replace the stock rubber isolators perchance. I have not experienced the noise you mention when using the stock rubber isolators in the top hats. When loaded, the springs should not be moving on the adjusters. If you have the poly isolators-they will squeak just like many of the suspension bushing made from the stuff do on ocassion.
Spring movement noises tend to be the most common noises that you can get from your spring /shock package. Since the CRX has shocks and not struts (2nd gen at least) then the dampers and springs do not turn or change orientation when the car is turning like a normal front strut does. Because of this, I am not sure where your noise is specifically coming from.
Trying some grease in localized spots can help you locate the cause but over time it will wash away as you are just masking the sympton and not curing the cause. If the spring rates are quite high with little to no preload, the car can bounce along rapidly on high frequency bumps and the spring itself can move on the perch.
Funky noises and mis-installation are probably the #1 complaint against drop on coil-over sleeve systems so just be thorough and make sure everything is working as it was meant to.

Did you install a rear sway bar at the same time? Or perhaps remove and replace an existing one? If the sway bar bushings are dry they may make a similar sound.
Well if this helps you guys out at all if I raise the coilovers up about and inch the car doesnt make that noise just thought would tell you this incase it would help you guys solve my porblem thnx.
Several people I know have had the spring rub the metal "sleeve". Turning the spring or adjusting the spring a little often solved the problem.
Check the sleeve to see if any of the paint is rubbed off on the top section.

When I first installed my ground controls the springs would rub on the sleeves when they were compressed. However they never made any noise. I never had a problem with the springs creeking on the perch. Have you inspected your ground controls? Do you see any wear marks created by rubbing? If not the noise is mostly likely caused by spring creeking as stated above.
