Jersey Auto-Insurance Sucks....
25 Year Old / Clean Record
$5900 / Year to insure a 2001 ITR full coverage w/ $100 deductible.
$5200 / Year to insure a 2001 ITR full coverage w/ $500 deductible.
$2850 / Year to insure a 2001 ITR with no collision coverage.
My hopes and dreams of owning an ITR have indefinatly been put on hold
Owning a car where the insurance is as high as the payment sucks *****.
Hardley anyone even offers insurance in NJ anymore, so I dont even know who to call for a competitive quote.. My current carrier is USAA and I would really hate to leave them anyway (great service).
Ah well, thanks for hearing my rant.

How much with $1,000. deductible?
You're right though, Jersey insurance does suck, but then again so do most drivers on the roads.
Theres hope still, when you turn 30 and or if you get married, your rates drop dramatically.

you can't tell me they the amount of money paid out by insurance companies in the state of NJ vs. every other state in the US justifies the rates in NJ. no way in hell.

jersey rocks pennsylvania. the only reason to go to pennsylvania is for terrible road signs or skiing the pocono bumps.
i have pallisades insurance, i'm 28 with 2pts, not married, $500 collision & $100 comprehensive (for when it gets stolen), and i'm paying $2400/year. your insurance will have a lot to do with WHERE you live in jersey.

Thanks for the link. I filled out the forms with them, and they will get back to me with a quote. I will let you guys know what they say.
That truly sucks. My new insurance for two cars is $775/6 months. Civic is my daily driver and the other is my pleasure vehicle (and, it really is a pleasure vehicle at ~300mi/month). And, guess what, I'm no where close to 30 y.o. or married.

Car insurance in NJ just plain sucks. I am 29, with only 4 points ever on my liscense and I just payed $1k for my beater, 1987 Accord LXi. That is minimal coverage (liability). I almost had a heart attack. My 2000 SI with full coverage is under my mom's name, costing $1100 per year. If I were to have it under my name, it would easily be $2k per year. I have NEVER been in any accidents, or made any claims. It's complete bullshit, because the good drivers have to suffer for the bad drivers and all the POS theives stealing our cars..
Right now I pay $1800 on both my 1993 delSol (B20 Swap - but they dont know that) and beater 1989 Civic DX w/ only liability on either.
Before I added the beater, it was somewhere around $1300.
That isnt too bad for being Jersey imho, but once I go full coverage it skyrockets (delSol was 2200 w/ full coverage).

I have no sorry feelings for u peeps living in jersey you get what you deserve.

Umm.. Ok.. You sound like a rocket scientist.
As mentioned, we deserve to get our cars stolen?
The POS theives and frauds deserve to get their asses beat.
Thanks for the positive contribution to this discussion.
