Default Best/least time consuming way to stop theives?

Is there anyway to stop theives? Alarms don't seem to stop them (well only the amatuers), fuel cutoffs - etc. only work when trying to steal the car - not stuff out of, don't have the option of a garage, and every time I get something new the @#$^ is stolen!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please help me brainstorm ideas to stop this, police are pointless, insurance sucks, and theives should die

use bolts/screws with odd shaped heads. Such as the Star bits with the center "security pin" or something like that. For example, my brother's lug nuts *look* like 6 sided nuts, but if you try to steal them you'd quickly realize they are a 7 sided nut. A 12 point of the right size *may* fit on, but it would more than likely strip the lugs rather than remove them.

Oh, and I've always wanted to try those screws they use in floor drain covers.. the ones that only have the two little holes in them the special tool goes into to turn.

Haha. I don't have a bat. I do have my 3 torque wrenches. The large one wiould work nicely on legs I am sure. But my breaker bar was in my teg when it was stolen. So it would have been a craftsman sword fight

Like said above...bolt things down, and when you do it, make sure it's in odd places. I'd use the abnormal head screws to mount my subs, na dbefore the subs go into the box, I'd place bolts...not screws from the inside of the box drilled and mounted to the trunk floor. You can place metal straps across your amps that cover any screws, and use the abnormal head screws on them to make it harder.

Leave your pit bull in the car with the windows rolled down. No one would dare come near to your car.

I would suggest parking it by the house and put a sign in the window of the car that says "Smile for the camera, ************"

Im not sure if this is true or not, but someone once told me you can actually get your car to hook up to a car battery or what not so whoever touches it gets a pretty damn good shock... if its true you have to have a permit. I once saw a thing on real TV that was a car that had flamethrowers hooked up to the car alarm... yikes. BUT ANYWAYS, Pitbull, stay awake pills and a good old S&W .357 should do the trick. if its one thing that pisses me off more than anything its people ******* with my car. so help me god if i ever saw someone key my car or do anythign else, i would stop at nothing making sure that mother ****** has a nice two week vacation at the hospital.

I have been thinking about buying one of those UHF transmitter IR camaras. It can see in the dark and you just need to give it power and that is all.

i would imagine one on your driver's side front rim, and one on the passenger side back rim.
a beyotch for you, but what thief would want to remove two rims (plus if you have wheel locks) before even attempting to steal the car?
can't tow it away, can you?

get a new garage opener........there are these metal strips u put around the border of you window and they are attached to a battery if anyone trys to break in the window or stick a screwdriver to open the window up a little the will get a big shock........my friends has no garage and he has a camera mounted at the side of his house pointing right at his car.....its is motion senstive and is connected to his pc......he can check on his car from anywhere...it records 24/7

so what you're saying is he can watch the thieves steal his car as they're doing it and then watch it again at a later date. cool ....but really does **** all to actually keep the car in the driveway.

my thoughts:
if a thief wants your car, he's gonna get it no mater what you do. if theres a way for you to get in the car, theres a way for him to get in. the only thing you can do is make him go through extra steps to get it. hopefully you can have enough layers of protection that the thief will no longer want to go through the trouble.

Lest see.. Best and least time consuming way to stop thieves?

That question in itself is somewhat of an oxymoron.. The best ways to stop thieves are time consuming. The least time consuming ways to stop thieves are not the best ways.

Here's a quick fix: SELL YOUR CAR and buy something nobody wants.

You can buy wire loom in the different diameters from a place like McMaster-Carr or Parts Express. Then wrap any exposed wiring under your dash and tape it real well. For your own reference you may want to index the looms with labels (0-10 maybe) and document it in a cross-reference. That way you can know which looms to open up for any future electrical projects.

Time consuming for you, but more importantly, time consuming for them.

Also a couple of bolts through a fabricated aluminum or metal sheet will serve to slow their accees to your fuse boxes. This might be a good addition, just makes it harder for thm to get +12v for hot-wiring.

To re-iterate: LAYERS are always advantagious.
And get a digital tilt/motion sensor to alert you if someone is towing it, or jacking your rims.

EDIT: typos.
