ok, my clutch is acting goofy. sometimes it engages at different points, feels mushy or whatever, then other times its fine. also, sometimes the pedal goes to the floor with very little resistance. am i lookin at a clutch issue or cylinder issue? or should i just take it somewhere and let them deal with it? also, sometimes when i go to put it in gear it stops before it reaches the gear and wont go any further until i let out the clutch and try again. any thoughts? also, do you think i could take it to any shop or should i take it to the dealer to have them check it out...i really would like to avoid dealer costs if i can... and if it helps, theres about 70K on the car now.

 

i just had this problem and just ordered the parts, it was the master cylinder

 

Sounds like either the master or slave cylinder. It is usually recommended to change out both at the same time, since if one fails, the other will usually follow soon afterwards.
