To me it's the best project out there. No two lsvtec's are built exactly the same. It's the concept of modifying your car applied to your engine. You can put your own touch to it. It is expensive if done "right". There is also some serious power that can be made with it. I also want to say the crvtec is my second choice and that's because it's the same concept but bigger. I personally am opting for a golden eagle sleeved 85mm B18A tho'.

I say GSR cause i dont have enough money to go with a Type r motor and has the OEM reliability that is very important to me

making sure the engine is built right comes into play also. I have had a b20vtec built right and had no problems with it at all but i have seen far more of them self destruct

I chose the Type R for the same reason as Threatcon13: an R powerplant replaced my LS motor. When I researched the LSVtec it became obvious that to do it "right" and get real power out of it, I'd be in the hole just as much money as an R and I would still have a crappy rod/stroke ratio and an engine that wouldn't rev as willingly as GSR/R/B16.

In my opinion the LSVtec is a waste of money. If you want more performance from the LS get some cams and a GSR,R, or B16 tranny (I've got a good friend that installed a GSR tranny in his LS and and said that it made a much bigger difference than his Crower cams). If you want more power put your LS head on a B20 block... just make sure you've got pistons with decent compression. Of course... you could always turbo the LS too

I say LSVTEC cause of all the B18 blocks, the LS makes the most torque. Yes LSVTEC is expensive when done the right way but they cost less that $4000 (typeR cost) to build and can produce more power than ITR motors

ok, who are the fucktards saying an lsvtec is better than a boosted ls? heres some news: A B20 VTEC IS NOT AN LSVTEC! the only thing ls about it could be the tranny and the tranny aint makin any power. just cause you swap in a vtec head doesnt make it an lsvtec. the setup that will produce the most power out of any of the choices is the ls boost; the closest to it would be the type r. the b18b is not some super-torquey engine; for the cost of it, use common sense and just get a b18c; if you want torque get an h series. the average turbo ls setup will get you ~220hp with mild turbo lag, while the type r only has 200 hp and has to rev to the ozone layer to reach that peak hp; the turbo ls will also dominate the type r on torque.

1. ls turbo
2. type r
3. ls/vtec

thats how it is, and that how the poll should look if newbs hadnt been voting on which has the most hype.

this is the stupidist poll ev3r

u think someone will actually choose a $5k+ setup based upon a poll that is not specific at all?

there is no best option for everyone

make a choice depending upon your budget/power goals/mileage driven per year/what u will use your car for and whatnot
