Someone anyone please help...LOL i just bought a used 1997 honda accord auto. $ cylinder engine 52k on car NO modifications. just normal car but when accelerating im hearing this annoying pinging noise, its not extremely loud but loud enough to start pissing me off recently only had car a week ...thought maybe someone here could help read thru some topics seems like a wealth of knowledgeacross the board...now the thing is not really much knocking or pinging when in neutral just when pressing on the gas pedal....when i get to 60 mph or higher not as loud but its still there..some please is there any easy fix any fix suggestions????please help thanks

 

Well when my car excelerates, it makes a barking sound! Maybe you could tell me what that is?

 

check you heat sheild, make sure its tight. my 96 accord use to make some really strange noises when accelerating and the heat sheild was the problem.

 

try using higher octane gas

If that "fixes" it you probably have carbon deposits inside your combustion chamber.

 

try asking the same question in the accord forum. unless your car has a h22 and you didn't mention it.
