Default Breaking Survey- Everybody please give your input.

When you are slowing down/breaking in a manual car, do you downshift or do you throw it in neutral and brake. Why?

Kick it to N before brake always (unless downhill for example, where I do both)

Like Drag said. Brake pads are cheap, and valves are not.

I downshift with the civic. It seems harder to stop then the Jetta. I am looking into a SI rear disk swap. The car stops fine it just takes more work.

I use more breaks than clutch.

Downshift/revmatch and brake, or heel-toe if needed. Never neutral and brake because I don't feel enought control of the car.

I agree with snyperSIR. I always downshift but I always revmatch. If you downshift you have to revmatch.
