Running shims and grease?

Metallic pads should, more than likely, squeak.

So they make 2 types of brake pads?

I thought they only made one type of pad (ceramic-Kevlar fiber material).

FWIW: I have the ceramic-Kevlar ones and they don't squeak at all.

I would re-install them, then, making sure that the tabs on the shims aren't bent and that there was enough grease on the shims and back of the pad and that nothing was loose.

All in all, probably something compound related, but I've never heard of folks complaining about noise from AEM pads (those were the ceramics, though). Metallic pads are noisier.
