I have a 01 prelude SH with 65K miles on it.. Just today it wouldnt go into reverse.. It feels kinda like if you try driving another car like a german car where reverse is not over to the right and down and you try to put it there.. Its like its not there at all, doesnt even go into where reverse should be.. I drove home last night and everything was good and I used reverse last night also without a problem.. Just this morning it didnt work at all.. Also I have noticed within the past week that it sometimes grinds a little when shifting into 5th on the highway..

Anyone had this problem or know what it is..

 

Had that same problem...Had the the 5th gear syncro replaced..Problem fixed.

 

Wow.. I just tried it and now it goes into reverse but there is a little more force required than normal but not much.. Why would the 5th gear synchro cause it not to go into reverse since reverse isnt sychronized..

 

Try changing your tranny fluid to GM synchromesh...you can pick it up @any GM dealership.
