Default mpfi question

i heard the best ecu for the mpfi swap is from a 90-91 si ecu is the integra ecu better which should i get im doing the swap to my 91 civic lx 4 door

The 88-89 Integra has a higher redline and more aggresive fuel maps. Can't remember off hand how high the rev limit is. If you will be running stock cams there is no reason to rev that high anyway. I would just stick with the 90-91 Si ECU, expecially if you hit the limiter on occasion.

You can chip the Si ECU also, so if you want more power later, it can be done. I would recomend the Si ECU if you are using a SOHC non-vtec, since the ECU was designed for a very similar motor.

actually, revving the engine past where it makes power DOES have a point. the higher you rev the engine, the higher the rpms will be when you shift. Its better to drop back into the powerband at a higher rpm than to shift when you are making maximum power and drop below the power band.

If you're just doing the MPFI swap and that's it go with the Si ECU. In my case I plan on swapping the DOHC ZC in later on so I'm going with the 89 teg ECU. Just depends what your future plans are I guess.
