Default ITR ECU??

I have a 98 GSR with Cold Air, DC JDM header, 2.5" Man. Bent Piping with muffler, JG cam gears, Skunk2 intake manny, AEM Fuel Rail and FPR, P&P head, milled .1 (i think), ITR valves, springs, and retainers, GSR cams , and Test Pipe.

The plan for now is to buy an ITR ECU and run VAFC for tuning.

The Question: Will this Setup help alot? I also heard that the ITR ECU blocks off the 2ndary o2 sensor, is that true? bc my check engine light is get'n annoying!!

Thanks,
Jay

LOL... i tried the same thing earlier tonight... plugged up the P73 to my car... but the car wouldn't turn on... me and my boy look at each other in dispair and say "****, immobilizer!"... good luck on that one... as soon as i figure out how to disable immobilizer, i'll let you know... and i'll do it to my ITR ECU...

I have type r cams and pistons as well. It works good for me. I guess it would be useless w/out the cams.

if you are using 00-01 obd2 itr ecu... with your setup.. you will still run a CEL... all obd2 cars run 2 o2 sensors... sorry but you are outta luck.. and yes like the other person had said.. you will have to remove the immobilzer first... but then a CEL will still pop up. so i woul just stick with whatever ecu you are using

but what you can do is.. get a p28/obd1 and chip it to itr/gsr specs and your set.

or better yet. be like the rest (like me) pick up a 95 p72 and jump it...

I have an ITR ECU. So far it runs great, revs smoother and a little richer than my stock GSR ECU. The redline is at 8900, neat! I have heard that the ITR ECU does not open the secondary intake valves in the manifold on a GSR. Since you have a Skunk manifold, I don't think you have to worry about that. ya think?? I don't have to worry about that since I have a Jackson Racing intake manifold. On my VTEC controller, there's a light that comes on when the VTEC's engaged and that is working properly.

Well........the itr ecu will run better w/ your set up compared the the stock gsr ecu. The stock gsr ecu runs the secondaries in the intake manifold.......but, since you have the head work, skunk2 IM, vafc, and i hope you'll upgrade to itr/ctr (more aggressive) cams soon......you'll recieve more gains from a chipped ecu... Only downside is that you would have to get a obd2-1 Version A conversion harness, and a chipped p28......that route would cost you more than just getting a plug and play itr ecu.....it all depends on what your future plans are as well...... PM me if you have any more questions about chipped p28 ecu's...or any other regarding ecu's.
