150k mile ls motor, if I put a 30-40k vtec head on it, how reliable will it be?
I just got a wrecked 91 integra ls, it has 150k on it. thinking of putting the motor in my crx. if I did a vtec head + the tune up, what can I expect from the rings and main bearings. I'm not trying to pay for a whole rebuild, but if I did it, would the engine be fine with that?
here's my thought's. the engine is running very smoothly, no oil burning. I figure the most wear and tear would be in the head. if I swapped the head, and did the timing belt/water pump tune up, it should last 45-50k. does that sound right, or am I off base here?

well, I was thinking 45-50k, then rebuild the whole thing for real performance. but the 45k would give me time to sort out the rest of the car. I don't have the money to do it all at once.
I guess I could just do a tune up on the existing ls motor and it would last long enough by itself.
