Default Power gain with Toda A,B or Skunk2, JDM

Right now I'm in the market for cam and I'm trying to find out what kinds of power gain I would see with these cams. I know this topic has been covered a lot but I did a search and I could find any thing on the Toda A or JDM or Skunk2. I was alos wondering if anyone knew of a place that sold these cams at a reasonable price.

Type in cams in search body, use integra type R forums, and hit post bodies, not thread titles. a whole bunch of cam stuff comes up..i just did a search.

I run Skunk 2 cams, they gave me like 18 in the midrange and 15 up top.

Spec A's are similar. Both don't require valvesprings or retainers. UNLESS you plan on revving to 9k a lot I would upgrade if you plan to do so..JDM cams won't make much of a difference than what you have already.

Toda B's, C's, JUN 2, 3 require more compression to yield the maximum gains. You absolutley need springs retainers and ecu as well as a vafc to tune them in.

Try looking at importreview.com and look at the cam comparisons its very interesting.

Fast94gsr is right...with B/C's and 2/3's, you'll need higher compression to realize their full potential. Also, they require a lot more tuning for them to idle and work well (the Toda B/C's idle best with a test pipe (dunno if you want that), not sure about the Jun's tho). They also have somewhat of a rough idle, something to be aware of in case you don't like that. The Toda's normally require a higher VTEC activation point than the Jun's also. The Jun's are good for peak power and usually offer a lil more torque while the Toda's can continue to make power at a lil higher rpms. Also take a look at http://www.geocities.com/dynocenter/home.html for dyno plots as http://www.importreview.com (atomic) dyno plots seem a lil more biased toward Jun...most likely cuz they more used to tuning Jun cams than Todas. In some of their cam comparisons, the Toda cams' vtec points are far too low, at least for Todas (like I said above, Jun cams usually require lower vtec points than Todas). Just search around. If you want stock idle, Jun 1, Toda A, Skunk2, and Spoon are the ones to look into. Your stock valve train should be good for any of these up to about 8500rpm. The power of these cams usually start to fall off around there anyways tho you could rev to 9000rpm to shift. A reprogrammed ECU is still a good idea for a better method of tweeking fuel and ignition maps. This way, you can just use a V-AFC or SFC-VTEC for fine tuning. They also do still make power a lil past stock redline, so the new ECU would help there too. Check out http://godspeed.hack.net for Toda stuff (good service and knowledgable guy, but Toda prices everywhere else are the same). There's several places selling Skunk2 cams+gears+valvesprings+retainers packages for about $800-$900 which is a pretty good deal. A&J ( http://www.aj-racing.com ) in Canada has good Spoon prices. The only ones I know that carry Jun are a local shop http://www.upgrademotoring.com . HTH.
