Default B18c1 Transformer

I used to have my car running in a very nice B18C1 configuration for road racing, until it broke! But that's another story!
Now I'm looking for something with a little bit more edge!
This is my plan:
B18c1 Block resleeved to 85mm bore
Knife edge crankshaft with a stroke of 87.2 from Eagle and rods.
JE pistons with bore of 85mm and 13:1 compression ratio
B16a head with port job and ITR intake manifold.
Skunk 2 stage 2 camshafts, springs and retainers
Dc Sports Header
Erick's racing 70mm TB
Vafc
Erick's Racing reprogrammed ECU

I would like to know what do you think of this configuration and what should I pay more attention to?
I don't have an available Dyno on the hand so what should I do to reprogrammed the VAFC or should I get the ECU reprogrammed again?
Please let me know all your comments, I would like some feedback on people that have experience.

Erick from Panama

84mm is fine; you'll be happy if you blow a piston (and don't crack a sleeve) that you can bore it over again, and still have the headgasket seal, and after ~84mm, your looking at diminishing power returns, anyway.

don't knife-edge the crank. it might reduce windage-drag, but it's not worth the compromise in strength, and a lighter flywheel with less mass farther from the central axis of rotation will make more of a difference for throttle response.

use a stock oem honda/acura b18c crank; better quality than eagle, and you can get a nice used one for much less than a new eagle one (hard to find a used eagle crank this size, since the only people who get them get stroker cranks). if you need one, lmk. not to plague your thread with salesmanship, but i also have a new set of GSR B18C Eagle Rods, if you want them (PM me).

i don't know what octane fuel you have as generally available to you, but i'd say that 12:1 compression should be good. stock or Supertech SS nitride-coated flatback valves are good- reduce combustion chamber surface area to help prevent detonation/knock/ping- especially helpful on the intake side with higher compression. check into CP and Wiseco pistons as well; they have very good finish quality.

check with Rocket on here for cams/valvetrain (and pistons). cheaper and better than Skunk2 in quality, and likely soon to be track/dyno proven better in performance (already have been, in a few cases).

tune with Hondata or AEM EMS.

Good Luck!

I agree with everything slofu added for you. Just a couple other notes I would scratch the vtac afc and ericks chip and just get hondata s200 or aem. Also look into a better header that DC is going to hurt you alot with the upped displacement and the high flowing head. Look into smsp, dtr, headertech, etc....

Good advice.

I'd scrap the Erick's TB and taper port a stock TB instead. 70mm is overkill for a NA GSR. Give Alaniz tech a call about the porting, they do fantastic work. I agree about scrapping the Vafc and toss the ECU too. Go with a P28 or P72 & Hondata S200. The SMSP header is a nice choice if you want the best. You didn't mention exhaust, but you should have a high flow cat and 2.5" exhaust system too. What tranny you planning to use? An ITR tranny with LSD would really make that thing get out of the hole quick.

Thank guys for the info!
What do you think on the new Aem ECU? Is it too hard to tune without the help of a DYno?
I'm using the close ratio gear set with differential from Quaife, which is running great!
Exhaust: 2.5" open pipe to a side.
