turbocharger orientation question
ok i dont know how to explain this very well so please bear with me.
i recieved a 14b of a 1g DSM that i want to use in my accord. i noticed that if i mount the turbo the way everyone else has it the downpipe/wastegate opening exits RIGHT where my front motor mount is making it practicly inpossible.
my question is, could i orient the turbocharger so that the downpipe/wastegate is pointing straight down? meaning the compressor would be sitting like " = " rather than like everyone elses " ||".
if this is possible it will be a perfect fit! the only problem i came accrose is that with the turbo sitting this way, the waste gate flap (not sure what its called) is stuck open due to gravity. i have no idea how wastegates work, i dont even know if mine is broken because it doesnt spring back or anything. if you open it, it stays open, if you close it, it stays closed.
anyway would a external wastegate correct this?
thanks for you help in advance
