The brakes are almost gone on my R and I'm gonna replace them with the Mugen Active Gate brake system.I was wondering if they would fit under 16 in. Rota Slips.Does anybody run this setup?

 

i find it humourous that you will spend a ton of money of fancy brakes, and cover them with **** rims...

damn, that's gotta be a record for rota hating.. if the performance is that much better with mugen brakes, it could be argued that those are far more important than some "bling" wheels..

besides, since when are rotas ****? i had no trouble with mine.. i didn't try to pass them off as anything they weren't either though..

to the thread starter, to bring it back on topic, I don't know, but I would think with it being a 16" rim they should fit.. The spoon calipers fit under, so why not the mugens? Are they that much bigger?

I was stating that he is going to spend a lot of l00t on hyped up JDM brakes (where his money could be better spent elsewhere, IMO). I simply stated I thought it was humourous......**** off if you dont like my opinion.

now now, temper temper.. i'm sure the guy who wanted to know if the wheels would fit over the brakes cared that you thought it was humorous what he spent his money on..

i wasn't being cool.. I had legitimate questions about your post, and a logical response, so I made it.. not to mention I at least, although not very helpfully or apparently successfully, had tried to keep the thread on topic to some degree while I asked my questions about your post..

brakes are an important part of upgrading the performance of your car.. what makes the mugens over-hyped? do they actually suck at braking performance or something?

someone sounds jealous to me. you went and psent a bunch of money on bling wheels, and cant stop any better. yet this other guy can now out brake you and still looks pretty good. go cry in the corner, and leave the man to outbrake you.

Tran has a rattle can camo paint job. I can guaran-damn-tee you he isn`t jealous.

and for $1300.00 yup, they are hype. I could definately think of better brake upgrades for the price.

 

all four corners do the braking although most is done by the front...

most systems are unbalanced..and pedal feel goes to **** with larger calipers..

ive driven alot of different systems on the track and besides a 6000.00 setup...the mugen has been my favorite.

 

I'm with EPG on this one, though I opted for the Smurf calipers because I did'nt want to have to sell/buy another 3 sets of 15" wheels to move up to the Mygen Active Gate system.

I easily see the cooling benifits, as well as the use of better calipers (than stock).

 

damn honda-tech is getting more worthless every day. all anyone ever does now is flame, flame, flame. i got "points" taken away from me for making an unuseful comment, whatever the **** thats supposed to do. a mod will probly take more points away for me posting this but that is gay since our posts our now sensored . **** last time i cared about my points was when i was playing x box. i think there is about 40% usefull information on this board, the rest is arguing. and i think its stupid how new users can only posts in certain forum this isnt the ****** vip club forum

Have any of you saying **** about Mugen brakes ever put them to the test?

I hate how everyone speaks about **** they have no experience with

 

OK,I was pretty sure that someone was gonna talk **** about me buying Mugen brakes and getting ROTA wheels,because of the brakes being kinda expensive and the wheels being fairly cheap.I know a few people that have the Slips and have no problem with them.The reason I'm buying the wheels is because as some of you know that the Mugen brakes will not fit over 15's so that means I have to buy 16's to run the brakes.Not everybody has the cash to buy Mugen brakes and Mugen wheels.I posted because on the websites I have seen the brakes on some of them say"Brakes do not fit over all 16 inch wheels".I wanted to make sure they fit before I go out and spend the money on the wheels and they not fit over my brakes.I'd rather have better brakes than some "bling" wheels.Rota's will do just fine for me.

I'd recommend emailing King and see if they know. You'll more likely get a real answer out of one of those guys, aside from the "why do you want them" BS.

My AP Brakes, which fit under 15" wheels and have a larger rotor, are pretty damn nice.

Lets discuss it over a beer at Pierce Street next week
