Default h23 vtec q

I did alot of research so here goes. I read all day that h23 vtecs dont need an external oil feen line but I bought an h23 block that was previously used with the h22 head and the guy that sold me it said that he had to run an external oil feed line even with the plug pulled! So I get the block with the external line already on the block and now I need to know where I need to or could tap into the head. Do I need to get a machine shop to do this? Is it even a good idea to run this or just plug it. Also anyone got pics of where the plug is that needs to be pulled. Thanks

So he ran an H23 VTEC w/ an external oil feed line, but there's no nipple for it to go into the head?

There is no need for the feed line, but I'm curious as to why you have one there to begin with.

The guy that sold me the block said that at first he didnt have the feed line and he was having oil pressure problems and so he put the oil feed line in and it ran fine. Yes, the block has the vtec oil pump. I am using my head for this and not the one he had

Aren't you concerned why he was having oil pressure problems?

yes, on an LS/VTEC...but the H23 VTEC should not have any need for an external feed line.

well even with the h23 vtec setup I have heard of people having problems. And the way I see it if its there why not have some extra oil? My theory is the more the better. Rather than not enough or just enough. I am really tempted to just cap off the line to see what it does.

Satan can correct me on this if i'm wrong, but that pressure could be used elsewhere. Really, you're getting enough oil to the head already (or should); adding an extra line to the head would simply be robbing the bearings of the pressure they need, especially w/ the H23 bottom end.

True. Very true. I have taken that into consideration. What I think I will do is tap into the head somewhere and just cap off the line and the tap in the head. That way if I do need the extra oil all I have to do is hook up the line. Either way it will probebly be awhile till I do the swap because I am getting deployed soon and wont have time to do it till April. Kind of sucks because I am so close to doing it

I also shouldnt have to worry about oil too much because I am running je forged pistons with the oil squiters already in the block
