i bought a suposed h22 VTEC tranny from a dood off this board, i finally got it today. On the trans in yellow paint marker is says "92p" Did they make 92 VTEC preludes in japan?? or is this a damn 92 h23 tranny from a local junkyard there is a tag on it with the barcode, i dont have it in front of me, il copy it and post it later.
just seeing if anyone knows how to indentify these trannies. thanks

Going by the barcode JDM LSD is M2B4 and M2A4 is non-LSD I believe.

Yes there was a 92 Prelude VTEC in Japan.

I can validate what '4bidden' says. M2A4 is JDM non-lsd H22A tranny. The H23A tranny code is M2S4. Yes they made a 92 prelude VTEC in Japan, Japan always gets things befor we do.

M2F4 is the USDM H22a tranny, same as the JDM M2A4

SH tranny code M2U4. The difference between the base and the SH tranny is of course ATTS and the tranny casing is smaller than the base to accomodate the ATTS, and cannot be used without ATTS.

You might want to ask in the Integra forum.
