you're going to have to find a custom fabricator to design and mount the turbo, wastegate, and manifold. then you'll need to figure out the fuel system.

its quite doable, but not easy to get right, good chance of destroying the motor, and really expensive if done properly.

oh and will probly hurt the resale of the bike.

dont know of any off hand, if i come across somethin, i will let you know. you could prolly build one yourself. as for destroying the motor..its replaceable and for resale...way overrated. well hope you get somethin accomplished. good luck

Just take a moment and think... Vtwin configuration... now go focus your short attention span elsewhere like the new issue of import tuner or something

for the guys flaming up the ***, if you have nothing good to post, then dont! if i wanna turbocharge a RC51, why does it offend you? yes i know its a V-twin motor, does that mean it cant be turbocharged?????

as for the turbo kit i probably will be fabricating the turbo kit myself, just wanted to know if there was any kits out there. turbo will probably be a GT series turbo such as a GT25R or similar and engine management will be an autronic engine management.

have you ever worked with a vtwin 4cycle? It's very unique compared to your average I4 bike engine let alone an I4 automobile powerplant. Think power strokes, flow rates, charge stagnation, surging, cc filling and sealing. Got a flowchart on a 25R? Autronic should require you to remap everything w/o the oem ecu. I'm not too familiar with autronic so I'm not too sure but the rc51 ecu doesn't allow for much coding. Btw, going with a BB turbo is a very good on this application.

it can be done.

i dont know much about turbo vtwins either but there are some big issues there with charge stagnation and exhaust manifold backpressure.

i know some of the harley tools have put turbos on. would be really useful to talk to some of those fabricators to see how much trouble it is.

Goot luck I know exactly zero people who have done there own turbo systems, at least ones thats run worth a darn. Most people tink you can just slap'em on and go. Bikes are a lot differnt then cars when adding a turbo system, a lot higher RPM range, they reve under load faster (less mass to move). They start with a lot higher compression ratios. Also cars have oversized cooling systems, most bikes are just big enough to get by. The rc-51s cooling system is just bearly adiquit for a stock bike with pipes and a power commandor let alone the massive heat a turbo system generates. All I can say is good luck. and yes there a system made for other V twins but none are that efficent, due to the long distance the exhust has to travel to get to the impeller. And the time between exhust pulses.

I have and a buel turbo too the buel make a whole 110Hp Done properly you can double your HP and torque, and still run pump gas. I wasnt flaming just pointing out the difficulties involved.

i'm not baggin' on your bike, or your choice to turbocharge it or anything like that.

I'm just sayin.. isn't that thing fast enough already? I mean, I've seen turbo bikes and ****.. going 200MPH and **** (i've got vids ).. but ..
it's kinda crazy (in a sense).. to turbo something that is fast as hell as it is.
I mean.. I guess if you're into that thrill-seeking mode, it's fine.. but heh.. if my dad would let me buy a bike (he won't let me use my $$), i'd keep it stock, because riding bikes is fun as they are (i've ridden them a few times. dirt bikes and a street bike once)

Just my little opinion..

but hey. Go for it. And show us some pics of how it turns out when you're done !

yah, that's true, especially the RC51, that thing is made to lean over and haul through twisties, not go fast in a straight line, charge a Busa or something, but a superbike???
