Boy do I feel dumb...need to apologize to H&R...

A little while ago I wrote a post up in which I related my noticing some significant missing ride height and inner fender damage, and suggested that maybe my H&R springs had something to do with it.
That is NOT the case. H&R springs are of the highest quality and can be depended upon by racers with high standards.
In my off's at the Rose Cups I damaged components as yet unidentified. I let this go undiscovered thru a double regional and a few laps a couple of weeks ago. This is major dumb-**** action, and there are no good excuses.
For instance: "I didn't think the hits were that bad". Won't work. I do have two friends who ripped oil pans off their Alfa's this last weekend - they wouldn't attempt that one, but I wouldn't trade places with them just to have that kind of clarity.
Anyway - I can only write from wherever I find myself at the time, and things (me) being what they are, that means occassionally I'll have my head way up my ***.
Apologies to you for my misinformation and erroneous conjecture, and to H&R, Eibach, HyperCoil, Carroll Smith, their family's and friends, my car, and the runoff of T3 and the gravel trap at the chicane.
Scott, who hopes he can identify the damage and get it all fixed in time for the NWH-T Classic....

But it is true that cars can settle from set-up to post race. Even if you roll 'em around, bounce them on a trailer for 180 miles, and bounce the fenders up and down.
We did all this to "Bob" before his first outing following the weight jacking and ride height extravaganza. Lowest rocker was a smidge over 5 inches (IT minimum height). Since I did my own head insertion and forgot to double check the height after qualifying, I ran the race illegally low. In impound after the race (and a 2nd place finish), someone said "hmmmmm, that thing looks kind of low" which immediately set off my "oh ****" buzzers and alarms. Fortunately no issue was made of it because when I got back to the paddock I discovered that the car had in fact settled at all corners, leaving the lowest rocker a smidge under 5 inches.
Never assume anything and try mightily to keep your head out of your ***. I've started keeping check lists. It helps.

NWH-T Classic indeed!

The second annual PNW H-T Classic will be at PIR on 10/12. This is the officially unofficial H-T play day, piggy-backing with the OR region Alfa Romeo Club. Spectators, photographers, and flag girls (for Greg) are welcome.
I might be looking for a rental... any Novice group members (not Johng) want to rent out their ride?
I have a smoker engine to put up as collateral...

Novice....? Ouch. Here I am, looking out for you, and all you can do is sling the smack. I see how it is.
Have fun watching from the stands.

Edited for clarification...sort of
(implies smack-talk but does not guarantee humor!)
Louie - thanks man. I'll consider it but I'll prolly just play spectator/timer/tire manager on the wall/ etc.

I checked the NWARC (Alfa) website and this event is not listed?

Jonathan,
That's cause it's not NWARC - it's AROO (Alfa Romeo Owners of Oregon).
The date's good. The weather...who knows?
Unless you're a smooth talker you can't pre-register unless you have an Alfa, so you just have to show up around 7-7:30 and get registered.
Scott, who really doesn't like to get up early to get to the track...but it beats getting up early to do just about anything else...
