Default Simple Exhaust Question

I just wanted to know if the bolts in the flanges on the OEM exhaust are welded in or pressed? I don't want to waste my time banging the **** out of them to find out they need to be drilled out.

well i don't know if you are talking about up at the head or down on the cat. i recently put on a header and had to cut alll 4 bolts that the cat uses, and they are all pressed in. thats the extent of my knowledg eoin this subject. alittle hammering and they came out and replaced them with some grade 8 bolts.

edit: oh yeah you from mass, masshole!!!

Well the flange at the end of the muffler broke off Sunday night thanks to a huge *** pothole in Holden MA and a some rust. I want to just fix it for now until I have the cash for an exhaust. Last night I was taking the broken part of the flange off and I screwed up one of the bolts and it broke off. I didn't have the time to try to bang it out but figured I would ask before I waste my time trying if it was welded in.
But if it is pressed in the front then I would imagine it would be all the way back.
Thanks!

yeah that would be an awefully stupid design if bolts were welded in, especially on the exhaust since they rust ALOT , my guess would be your right if they were pressed in the cat, then same for the back. i don't think honda would be stupid enough to do something like weld in exhaust bolts.

Good call. That's what I was thinking but hey it would be a good way for them to make money on parts. Change one part of the exhaust chances are you would have to go all the way back
