Hard starting with low fuel level?
Anyone ever had this happen? For some reason I lose my fuel prime when the tank is low. When I let my fuel drop down to the 'E' (but before the idiot light comes on) it doesn't crank right up the way it normally does. Now if I leave the key in the "ON" position until I hear the fuel pump cut off then it starts right up everytime. So it's not a problem at all ... just a minor annoyance.
kinda weird ... why on earth would I lose pressure just because the fuel level is low? (but there's still plenty enough gas in the tank)

you loose pressure because there is more air in the tank, which has a tendency to either leak a little bit(as air always does) or condense when it is cold outside. both reasons will cause a momentary loss of fuel pressure when starting an engine cold.

Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. Except I'll usually get 3 or 4 extra "hits" in. Normally it'll fire up on the 2nd or 3rd hit, but if I'm on 'E' or lower it takes 5 or 6 hits. But even that's if I just jam the key in and whip it right into the "start" position. If I let it sit in "On" position for a bit then it's normally fine.

I'm assuming this is a traditional fuel injection setup in this Integra. Which would mean that the pump is valved to prevent backflow. Hence I can't see how more air in the tank would cause this valve to leak unless somehow it relies partially on the static pressure of the fuel in the tank. I've never had this happen in any of my other fuel injected cars (200SX, 240SX, Stealth) and I do have a tendency to drive the tanks right down to the line.
